Palma de Mallorca Airport to Millor transfer
If you wish to visit the rocky, east side of Mallorca, the most developed and touristically oriented resort is Cala Millor, located between the distrits of Son Srevera and Sant Llorenc des Cardassar.
The translation of the name is “Better Bay”, as opposed to the neighbouring quiet resort of Cala Bona or “Good Bay”.
The current high level of touristic infrastructure in Cala Millor is mostly attributed to Jaime Vicens Andreu, the founder of the first hotel back in 1933, “Hotel Eureka”. Following his lead, many more hotels were built by ambitious entrepreneurs.
Today, there are enough beds for 16.000 visitors, either in one of the 61 hotels or in one of the 65 apartments available for rent.
What distinguishes Cala Millor from the other parts of the island is the approximately 6 kms long sand beach, located between two natural capes that offer significant protection.
It is one of Mallorca’s most beautiful beaches, with crystal clear blue waters and fine sand.
The beach is also well equipped for whichever activity you want to participate in. You can take windsurfing classes or practice most water sports. If all you want is to enjoy the sun, you can always rent a sun umbrella and a deck chair.
Should you wish to go shopping, you would be happy to find out that there exist many different shops in the town, although most of them do not offer a great variety of items.
Additional shopping options exist outside the town in the local markets of Son Servera on Fridays and of Arta on Tuesdays. Moreover, another local market lies in Manacor, 20 kms away, a place where the trade of Mallorcan pearls is most important.
In the wider area, tourists can visit the neighbouring Cala Bona resort, which can also be approached using the new promenade.
In a 3 kms distance lie the Sa Coma and S’ Illot resorts, which offer more adventure. They are located close to the cape of Punta de n’ Amer.
Among the four neighbouring resorts in the area, Cala Millor is the one with the most exciting nightlife.
It is a colourful, place with quite a few discos and various bars, in addition to parties and shows offered by hotels.
However, the nightlife and the resort’s character in general is oriented more towards families vacationing than to younger people wishing to party all night long.
