Hersonissos – also written Chersonissos- is a widely developed touristic resort at a distance of 25 kms (or 15.5 miles) from the city of Heraklion.
It is considered to be one of the most popular tourist destinations during the summer months, as it combines large sandy beaches with excellent facilities for almost any water sport, proximity to sites of archaeological interest and a huge variety of places to go out at night.
