Disneyland Resort Paris is unquestionably one of the most popular family holiday destinations in Europe, located in Marne-la-Vallée, only 30 kilometers away, at the east of Paris. The construction of the French Disneyland began in 1988 and the resort was officially opened as Euro Disney Resort on April 12, 1992.
Children love Disneyland Paris. Situated aside, near the capital it is easy to visit within a day-trip from Paris. The Resort is divided in three main districts: Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios and Disney Village.
Disneyland Park is one of the two basic theme parks. Based on the template of Disneyland in California, opened as Euro Disney, and changed to Disneyland Paris in 1995. Walt Disney Studios were built later on in this district as well.
The Walt Disney Studios is the second theme park. The park is centered on a working film studio and it shows the atmosphere of a film set and work have been done already there on some of Disney's finest hits, such as The Little Mermaid, The Lion King and Pocahontas.
Finally, Disney Village is a big, colorful multi functional shopping area in Disneyland Paris and is definitely worth paying a visit. It is placed next to the two theme parks of Disneyland Paris. There is an enormous video arcade, a McDonald's restaurant and numerous stores selling a whole range of products and souvenirs from Disneyland Paris.
There are much more to do than a funfair or what one expect to see in an ordinary theme park, many of the sets are incredibly detailed and the variety of activities can fulfill the expectations of even the most demanding visitor.
